African voilets (genus: Saintpaulia) can be grown indoor or in shade. They are low, almost earth hugging plants that yield flowers profusely.  Color range includes  blue, yellow, white, red and mix of them.  The leaves are singular, originating from a central stem in whorls.  Each leaf produce a small plantlet.  These plants need well drained soil.  Use additional quick lime in pot mix to improve yield.

African voilets are easily affected by aphids and white mite.  Using soap water spray or neem based insecticide can help remove the bugs.
